Welcome to QueryGlow

QueryGlow is a self-hosted database GUI that runs as a Docker container on a server you run. Connect to PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQLite, CockroachDB and TimescaleDB, reach private databases through built-in SSH tunnels with host key pinning, and let Ask AI write SQL from plain English with your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google key (it sees the schema, never rows). Safe Mode guards the Query Editor against accidental data loss, visual schema editing (add, rename, retype and drop columns, reorder them on MySQL and MariaDB) shows the exact SQL before it runs, and Agent Access gives MCP clients scoped tokens, read-only by default and enforced by the database, with every agent call in the Activity tab.

  • ./queryglow update backs up first, checks that the new version is serving and rolls back on its own if it is not. How updating works
  • Preferences behind the gear icon: theme, accent color, time zone, date and number format, rows per page up to 500, auto refresh and your own keyboard shortcuts.
  • The Query Editor asks before it runs an INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE or DDL on a connection marked production.
  • SSH host keys are pinned on first connect, and SSL connections can verify the server certificate.
  • AI provider keys can be entered in the app, stored encrypted on your server, with a Test button.
  • Since 1.2.1: the Activity tab shows every agent call and lets you pause tokens; Find local servers, Find databases on this server and a pasted connection URL fill the connection form.
