CockroachDB Deserves Better Tools

Distributed SQL is complex. Your GUI shouldn't add to that complexity.

CockroachDB Console Limitations

The built-in console is basic. No AI assistance, limited query editing, no SSH tunnel support for self-hosted clusters.

No Safety Rails

Run DROP TABLE on a distributed cluster? Most tools just execute it. No protection for your production data.

No AI Assistance

Writing complex distributed queries? You're on your own. No AI to help generate CockroachDB-compatible SQL.

Tool Fragmentation

Different tools for PostgreSQL, MySQL, CockroachDB. Context-switching kills productivity.

Everything You Need for CockroachDB

Modern features designed for distributed SQL workflows.

Serverless, Dedicated & Self-Hosted

Connect to any CockroachDB deployment via secure TLS on port 26257. Works with Serverless, Dedicated, and self-hosted clusters.

AI SQL Generation

Describe what you need in plain English. Get CockroachDB-compatible SQL using OpenAI, Claude, or Gemini. Your API keys.

Web-Based Access

Access your CockroachDB clusters from any device with a browser. No desktop app to install—check your distributed nodes from anywhere.

SSH Tunnels Built-In

Connect to self-hosted CockroachDB in private networks. Paste your private key directly—no terminal setup.

Smart CSV Import

Import with INSERT, UPSERT, or REPLACE strategies. Auto-detects encoding and delimiters. Handles large files.

EXPLAIN Visualizer

Visual query plan analysis with color-coded nodes. Smart warnings detect sequential scans and suggest CREATE INDEX statements.

SQL Autocomplete

Schema-aware completions for tables, columns, keywords, and functions. Type table. to see columns with data types.

Access Your Distributed Clusters From Anywhere

CockroachDB clusters span regions. Your GUI should be accessible from anywhere too.

Web-Based Cluster Management

  • Check cluster health from any device
  • Query distributed nodes from your phone
  • Share access with your team via URL
  • No desktop app to install or update

Always Blocked (Cannot Override)

  • DROP DATABASE
  • COPY TO/FROM PROGRAM (RCE prevention)

Works with the PostgreSQL Ecosystem

QueryGlow uses the native pg driver. CockroachDB and TimescaleDB are PostgreSQL-compatible.

All three use the same pg driver. Same features, same UI.

One License, Six Databases

Your $79 license includes all six databases with unlimited connections.

CockroachDB FAQ

Does QueryGlow support CockroachDB?
Yes. QueryGlow supports CockroachDB using the PostgreSQL pg driver on port 26257. CockroachDB is PostgreSQL wire-compatible, so all features work identically: AI SQL generation, Safe Mode protection, SSH tunnels, CSV import/export, inline editing, and query history.
Does QueryGlow have Safe Mode for CockroachDB?
Yes. Safe Mode blocks DROP DATABASE (always, cannot be bypassed), prevents DELETE/UPDATE without WHERE clauses, and auto-limits SELECT queries to 1000 rows. For CockroachDB specifically, it also blocks COPY TO/FROM PROGRAM to prevent remote code execution. Safe Mode is ON by default.
Can I connect to CockroachDB Serverless or Dedicated?
Yes. QueryGlow connects to CockroachDB Serverless, Dedicated, and self-hosted clusters via secure TLS connections on port 26257. For self-hosted clusters in private networks, SSH tunnel support is built-in.
Does QueryGlow work with PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, and TimescaleDB?
Yes. All three databases are PostgreSQL-compatible and use the same pg driver. All QueryGlow features work identically. One tool for your entire PostgreSQL ecosystem.
How does the AI feature work with CockroachDB?
QueryGlow reads your CockroachDB schema (tables, columns, types) and sends only that metadata to your chosen AI provider—never actual row data. You describe what you need in plain English, and it generates CockroachDB-compatible SQL. You review and edit before running.
Is QueryGlow secure for production CockroachDB clusters?
Yes. Credentials are encrypted with AES-256-GCM at rest. Safe Mode prevents accidental destructive queries. Environment color coding (red for production) provides visual warnings. QueryGlow is 100% self-hosted—your data never leaves your servers.
